My question was similar, I am in general worried that we are breeding super bacteria becase the use of antibacterial soap is so wide spread in people’s homes where it is not needed. And pediatricians etc. over perscribe antibiotics. On the other hand, the thought of something to help with airport bathrooms and really high trafic areas that mix together people from all over the world probably has a favorable cost to benefit ratio.
We are exploring other antimicrobial agents at this time. Gentamicin was used to get a general proof of concept. In the future, we will test loading the HNTs with a mixture of agents that when combined are antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal.
Do you believe there could be adverse effects of the antimicrobial filament on skin microflora?
