In our cohort, we did not see any correlations between race and outcome, but it may be due to our smaller sample size. However, we did see a higher prevalence of chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease that are known to influence the inflammatory processes such as the processes seen in COVID-19, in particular the cytokine storm.
